Google(do go through the link) has become a necessity these days (for me at least!). I rely so heavily on Google that apart from it being my most visited website, it has even made me lazy. For the information, I would have needed days to collect, its all just a click away. I wonder how people used to manage before the advent of Google, or Internet, or even a computer, or.. ok ok I can go back to wheel so better I move on! J
Although Google is of such prime importance and imagining life without it is difficult, there are certain things that Google can’t do.. not yet..
1. There is one line from a song I am humming since morning and I don’t know what are the next lines or the movie or rather anything about it and I am unable to get it out of my mind. I want that when I record that song in my voice and upload that wave file in Google and hit Enter, I should get the audio/video, lyrics, movie, starcast and the like.
2. There are times when I see a beautiful picture and I wonder its origin or what the place is or who the photographer is. Or there are some creepy creatures I can see in the garden from my balcony. I can’t, for my life, make out what they are. I fancy that when I click and upload that picture in the search engine I should get my answers.
3. I sometimes recall a poem from my school textbook, I don’t remember its poet or the lines but I remember the gist of it. I wish that when I write the meaning of the poem, Google should be able to produce the poem with the name of the poet at one go.
I know that even now its not impossible. There are poetry forums and nature lover sites available. And with some effort I can find out. But that’s exactly my point, I want to do all this with no effort or little effort I may say, for uploading and hitting Enter.
I am pretty sure that a day will come when the above would be possible and I will laugh reading this post. But till that time, am I asking too much? Naah.. J
